    The Luxembourg Centre for Logistics and Supply Chain Management (LCL) at the University of Luxembourg is currently recruiting one faculty member preferably at the Full Professor level as a Chair in Procurement.

     

    This Procurement Chair is established and financed in collaboration with the Luxembourg's Ministry of Economics and supported by the Chief Procurement Officers (CPO) Club, which is composed of 7 leading companies – Amazon, ArcelorMittal, Delphi, Ferrero, Leaseplan, SES and Vodafone.

     

    The Procurement Chair will focus on research, education, and outreach.

    • Research: The Procurement Chair shall advance cutting-edge procurement research
    • Education: The Procurement Chair will be responsible for setting up a procurement stream within the existing Master in Logistics and Supply Chain Management with the option of creating an independent master in procurement in the future.
    • Outreach: The Procurement Chair shall facilitate exchange and networking with members of the CPO club and other companies.

     

    Representatives of the centre will be attending the INFORMS Annual Meeting in Seattle, October 2019.     Researchers at the LCL have an excellent research record with publications in top tier journals including Operations Research, Production & Operations Management, Marketing Science, and Transportation Science. The members of the LCL also engage industry in their research. The LCL has an active PhD program.

     

    The core educational program at the LCL is a one-year professional master in logistics and supply chain management (LSCM) incorporating a 4-week visit to the MIT campus in Cambridge, MA, while engaging industry partners in applied thesis projects. The master program attracts diverse, high calibre students, with graduates securing positions in companies such as Amazon, ExxonMobil, and Cargolux.

     

    The LCL hosts an annual conference, executive education, and other outreach activities.
