    The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Maryland, School of Medicine is recruiting for a highly motivated individual to carry out research in applying Operations Research techniques to cancer research. The successful candidate will be responsible for research development and integration with clinical systems for clinical translation.

    Qualifications and Skills

    Ph.D. in industrial engineering, computer science, applied mathematics, electrical and computer engineering, or related field. Successful applicants must be highly motivated and must have strong programming/scripting (C/C++/C#, Python, Matlab, etc.) skills. Strong background in solving large-scale optimization problems is preferred. The candidate should demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.

    Training

    This is a two to three year, full-time, mentored research position. The successful candidate will receive regular mentorship and evaluation, be trained and encouraged to disseminate research findings in major national conferences and peer-reviewed publications, and to seek extramural research funding.
