The quant group at Babson College has a number of exciting new and on-going opportunities: a reimagined undergraduate core, rapidly increasing demand for quantitative electives, and sustained growth in business analytics across all programs. To capitalize on these developments, the Mathematics and Science Division of Babson College invites applications for full-time, non-tenure track visiting assistant appointment to begin fall semester 2022 and to be annually renewable for up to two years. The successful applicant will teach four course-sections per academic year. Some of these sections may be from our two semester core undergraduate sequence that includes business statistics along with some topics from simulation, optimization, and predictive modeling with R. The visiting assistant professor will also likely have the chance to teach introductory quantitative methods courses in any of our several master's degree programs, or higher level undergraduate or graduate courses. Babson faculty value the diverse backgrounds and perspectives our colleagues bring to our community, and we strongly encourage members of groups that have been traditionally underrepresented in STEM fields to apply for this position.

Babson College values high quality teaching and thoughtful pedagogy, together with intellectual vitality as evidenced by traditional scholarship or engagement with practitioners. The successful candidate will show potential for outstanding teaching in applied statistics, analytics, or related decision science topics and a passion for developing and delivering innovative quantitative courses for undergraduates and graduate business students. The winning candidate will also have an active professional career, which may included traditional discipline-specific research, the scholarship of learning and teaching, or quantitative consulting.

The successful candidate will join our division which includes thirteen tenure-track faculty, four full-time lecturers, and several part-time instructors. We seek a colleague who:
    • Is passionate about excellence about teaching.
    • Brings depth in scholarly or practical expertise that will add to the intellectual community of the College.
    • Is a team player, willing to lead and collaborate with faculty from multiple discipline to design and teach courses in an integrated, cross-disciplinary context.
    • A Ph.D degree in an appropriate quantitative field is required.

No paper applications will be accepted.

    Required Documents:
    1.     Cover letter
    2.     CV / Resume
    3.     A brief (1-2 page) statement of teaching philosophy, including a short statement on your philosophy on diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom
    4.  A brief research or professional activity statement

Candidates who advance in the application process will be asked to provide three reference letters. For full consideration, the materials should be submitted by March 15, 2022. We may continue to review materials submitted after this time until the position is filled.

Babson College is an Equal Opportunity employer committed to enhancing diversity across all levels of the College. Candidates who believe they can contribute to this value are strongly encouraged to apply here.
