    ICSS 2021 Best Student Paper competition was sponsored by Penn State Service Enterprise Engineering, and the winning papers were:

    • First place ($500): "Integrating Empirical Analysis into Analytical Framework: An Integrated Model Structure for On-Demand Transportation," by Yuliu Su, Singapore University of Technology and Design; Ying Xu, Singapore University of Technology and Design; Costas Courcoubetis, Singapore University of Technology and Design; and Shih-Fen Cheng, Singapore Management University
    • Second place ($300): "Patient Transfer Under Ambulance Offload Delays: An Approximate Dynamic Programming Approach," by Wenqian Xing, Columbia University, and Cheng Hua, Shanghai Jiao Tong University
    • Third place ($200): "COVID-19 Intervention Policy Optimization for the United States Using a Multi-Population Evolutionary Algorithm," by Luning Bi, Iowa State University; Mohammad Fili, Iowa State University; and Guiping Hu, Iowa State University

     

    ICSS 2021 Best Conference Paper competition was sponsored by Penn State Center for Health Organization Transformation, and the winning paper ($500) was:

    "The Power of Analytics in Epidemiology for COVID 19: Prediction, Prevalence, and Vaccine Allocation", by Mohammed Amine Bennouna (MIT, USA); David Alexandre Nze Ndong (MIT, USA); Georgia Perakis (MIT, USA); Divya Singhvi (IBM Research, USA); Omar Ska Ii Lami (MIT, USA); loannis Spantidakis MIT, USA); Leann Thayaparan (MIT, USA); Asterios Tsiourvas (MIT, USA); Shane Weisberg (MIT, USA)
