    The Labovitz School of Business and Economics (LSBE) at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) invites applications for a full-time, one-year, non-tenure track faculty position in Operations Management in the Department of Management Studies at the Instructor/Assistant Professor level beginning Fall 2018. Approximately 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students are currently enrolled in the school's programs. Both the undergraduate and graduate programs are AACSB-International accredited. The school is housed in a state-of-the art building. There are currently 53 full-time faculty members in four academic departments: Accounting and Finance, Economics, Management Studies, and Marketing. The School offers the Bachelor of Accounting, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Art in Economics, and MBA degrees. Regional outreach is accomplished primarily through activities of the School's Center for Economic Development and the Bureau of Business and Economics Research.     JOB TITLE: Instructor/Assistant Professor of Operations Management 

    (Instructor if ABD) 

    APPOINTMENT START DATE: Appointment begins August 20, 2018; classes begin August 27, 2018

    JOB DESCRIPTION: Full-time, one-year, non-tenure track position in Operations Management in the Department of Management Studies 

    DUTIES: The individual hired for this position will have responsibilities in teaching and service. The department's current teaching needs are in the area of Operations Management at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Currently, the teaching load is seven sections (21 credits) per academic year. The individual will be responsible for advising undergraduate students, working with student organizations, and is expected to engage in service activities with colleagues, the department, School, campus, community and professional organizations.     Required/Essential Qualifications: 

    1. Applicants must have a minimum of a Master's degree in Operations Management or Supply Chain Management or an equivalent program from an accredited institution with substantive coursework in Operations Management, or be ABD. If ABD, the applicant must have completed a minimum of two years residency as a full-time doctoral student in Management (with substantive coursework in Operations Management) in his/her program from an AACSB-International accredited school or major internationally recognized university with a curricular emphasis in the field of Operations Management. 

    2. If the applicant has a Master's degree and is not ABD or Ph.D. in the Operations Management discipline, the applicant must have operations management or supply chain management experience that demonstrates active involvement in his/her profession since the time of the Master's degree completion. 

    3. Applicants must have experience in either training/public speaking within an organized setting or teaching at least one university-level course as instructor or teaching assistant. 

    4. Applicants must exhibit abilities, skills and enthusiasm consistent with teaching excellence and instructional innovation in the area of Operations Management. 

    Preferred Qualifications: 

    1. Ph.D. from an AACSB-International accredited institution or major internationally recognized university in Operations Management. 

    2. Demonstrated ability to teach Introductory Production and Operations Management and Operations Management elective courses at the undergraduate level to a diverse group of students. 

    3. Demonstrated ability to use a variety of teaching methods in a classroom with a diverse group of students. 

    4. Evidence of the potential to conduct and disseminate knowledge in the area of Operations Management. 

    5. A willingness to fulfill service responsibilities to students, colleagues, the department, School, campus, community and professional organizations.
