    Hi everyone

I want to let everyone know about a post-doc fellowship at the CDC called the Steven M. Teutsch Prevention Effectiveness (PE) Fellowship https://www.cdc.gov/pef/. It was designed to get more economists in the CDC back in 1994 to do more economic analyses. However, I was the first industrial engineer to enter the fellowship (1998), and due to my work, they started recruiting more industrial engineers, operations researchers, mathematicians, and decision scientists. In fact, probably half of the class are people with these backgrounds now. More and more public health entities are realizing the value of decision analyses, especially when there are limited data, which is where mathematical modeling and simulation comes into play a lot. If you want some examples of the work fellows do at the CDC, the page above gives some examples. If you want to know more specifically about the work I have done, I can post it to the thread if enough people ask. The deadline is 17 Jan 2019, so less than a month to go.
