Position Summary
We invite applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position to conduct research in the area of healthcare operations and pertaining to the broader impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the health system. The successful candidate will contribute to development of empirical and stochastic models and work with the largest dataset on hospitalized patients in Canada and one of few such examples globally. The position will be supervised by Timothy Chan and Vahid Sarhangian (Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, University of Toronto).
Qualifications
- PhD (earned or to be granted) in Industrial Engineering, Management Science, Operations Research, Operations Management, or related fields.
- Expertise in stochastic models, simulation, and optimization.
- Expertise in empirical methods and causal inference would be an asset.
- Strong communication skills and self-motivation.
Term: The position will commence once filled. This position is for one year with the possibility of extension for an additional year based on mutual consent. There is flexibility with regards to the starting date to accommodate the selected candidate. Teaching opportunities can be provided but are not required.
