    The 2017 INFORMS Annual Meeting in Houston is offering a special pre-conference that's perfect if you're a PhD student, a new faculty member, or an academic who wants to improve your connection with students in the classroom.

    Attend the INFORMS Combined Colloquia. Deadline to Apply is August 30!

    The 2017 INFORMS Combined Colloquia will take place on October 20-21. Choose from one of these three outstanding colloquia designed to advance your career:

    • Doctoral Student Colloquium (DSC), recently reorganized to better help rising Ph.D. students in their second or third year to make the critical decision whether to pursue an academic or practice career;
    • New Faculty Colloquium (NFC), an excellent introduction to the challenges of a career in academia for junior faculty or a senior Ph.D. student with an academic interest; and
    • Teaching Effectiveness Colloquium (TEC), with great guidance for those who want the best methods of connecting in the classroom and teaching operations research and management science to students at all levels.

    INFORMS has streamlined the application process introducing a straightforward fee structure - $85 for students, $215 for all others. The colloquia are now both affordable and easy to attend. Note that additional support is available for Ph.D. students through WORMS and MIF sponsorship.

    The Combined Colloquia will begin on Friday evening with a welcome dinner for all participants and will continue all day Saturday with informative sessions, good food, and plenty of time to socialize and network.

    The deadline is fast approaching! All nomination packages must be received by August 30, so please respond today! For complete nomination requirements and to make your submission, click here.

    Burcu B. Keskin is serving as 2017 chair of the Combined Colloquia Committee. The chairs of the individual colloquia are Mihai Banciu (TEC), Sandra Eksioglu (DSC), and co-chairs, Auriele Thiele and Julie Ivy (NFC).

    Note:
    All colloquia participants must also register for the INFORMS Annual Meeting.
