    Call for Papers
MSOM Sustainable Operations SIG 2021 Conference
Kelley School of Business, Indiana University
     June 5-6, 2021 (Virtual)

The Sustainable Operations Special Interest Group (SIG) of the Manufacturing and Service Operations Management Society (MSOM) will hold its annual conference virtually on Saturday and Sunday, June 5-6, 2021 which will be hosted by the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University, preceding the MSOM 2021 conference (June 7-10).

On behalf of the Sustainable Operations SIG, we would like to invite you to submit papers to this conference. The acceptance decisions will be based on full paper submissions which will undergo a double-blind review by a panel of experts. Presentations of the accepted papers will be scheduled in a single track with one discussant per paper. All submissions will be considered as long as they fit within the topic of sustainable operations. This includes but is not restricted to: Energy and Natural Resources, Closed Loop Supply Chains, Socially Responsible Operations, and Environmental Issues in Supply Chains. Furthermore, all methodologies including theoretical, empirical, case and field studies are welcome.

    Important Dates

    • Submission deadline (full paper):                    Mar 8, 2021
    • Notification of Acceptance:                               Apr 19, 2021

    Submission Guidelines and Review Process

    • Submission link:  https://msom2021.indiana.edu/sig-submission/index.html
    • Follow the instructions below when submitting your paper
      • The paper should be submitted as a PDF file, with file name <paper title>.pdf. The paper should not exceed 32 pages (including appendices), and comply with MSOM formatting standards: https://pubsonline.informs.org/page/msom/submission-guidelines
      • The papers will undergo a double-blind review process by an expert panel. To support this process, author names should NOT appear anywhere in the paper file
      • The submitting author will be the presenter and will be considered the "primary author" in the system. When your paper is accepted, you will upload a non-blinded paper with author names in the appropriate order.

Coordination with the general MSOM Conference

Although the same work may not be presented in both the MSOM Conference and a SIG Conference, authors may have their submission considered for both. To do so, the authors should only make a single submission to the SIG Conference and indicate in the form on the website that they would also like to be considered for the MSOM conference in case the paper is not accepted by the SIG Conference (which has higher priority). The same work may not be submitted to more than one SIG Conference.
