    Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Operations Management

    The Department of Finance and Management Science in the Carson College of Business at Washington State University is seeking candidates for a permanent full-time tenure-track position with 9-month academic appointment as an Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Operations Management in Pullman, Washington, to begin on August 16, 2019.

    Job Requirements:

    Candidates for the position must have an earned Ph.D. in Operations Management or a closely related field from a nationally or internationally recognized university prior to the employment start date. Qualified candidates should have a minimum of two years' full-time experience as a professor/lecturer/researcher at a college or university. They must have an established research record that demonstrates research ability and potential to continue to publish in the field's premier journals. A commitment to excellence in teaching and demonstration of teaching effectiveness are also required.

    Position Description:

    The successful candidate will be required to teach four courses per year (typically two per semester) in Operations Management and Management Science, conduct high quality academic research in Operations and related areas, and serve the Department, College and University as needed. The candidate will be expected to provide leadership in the Operations and Management Science Ph.D. program, teach periodic Ph.D. courses, and advise Ph.D. students. The academic rank (assistant professor, associate professor, or professor) and compensation will be based on candidate qualifications.

    Washington State University conducts transformational research and provides world-class education to more than 30,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. Founded in 1890 in Pullman, it is Washington's original land-grant university. The Carson College of Business is AACSB accredited, and it first offered a business administration degree in 1940. Today, the Carson College grants almost 20 percent of WSU's undergraduate degrees, making business one of the most popular majors on campus. The Department of Finance and Management Science has a research-oriented faculty and offers a vibrant Ph.D. program.

    Community:

    The communities of Pullman, Washington, and Moscow, Idaho, each contain a major state university and are located eight miles apart in the scenic Palouse Hills area of eastern Washington and northern Idaho. The combined population is approximately 58,000, including 41,000 students.
