    Seminar title:
The Impact of Supply Chain Network Structure on Risk Propagation

    Abstract:
Supply chain networks connect firms across the globe in ways that expose them to shocks from remote regions and industries.  This talk will describe various models that relate the structure of network connections to the propagation of risk from idiosyncratic shocks and the potential for these shocks to become systemic.  The models will be used to explain a number of empirical observations about the nature of firms' risk exposure and their position in the global supply chain.
