    Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business seeks applicants for a Lecturer position (non-tenure track with renewable three-year contract) in the department of Operations Management and Information Systems, beginning Fall 2017. The job duties include teaching undergraduate and MBA/MS courses primarily in Analytics (topics from Data Analysis, Statistics, Optimization, Management Science), as well as Operations Management or Information Systems, and collaboration with the Department Chair on curricular and extracurricular issues. The teaching load for Lecturer contracts is 7 sections per year (typically 25-40 students per section, on a traditional quarter system), with opportunities for paid overload. Benefits include medical, dental, and 403b.

    Basic Qualifications

    Applicants must have a doctorate degree with training in analytics, operations management, or information systems (ABD is acceptable), experience as a lead instructor of related courses directed at non-technical audiences, and teaching ratings in the top half of all instructors in the most recent year of teaching.

    Responsibilities:

    Duties include but are not limited to:

    A. Planning and teaching lecture sections. Specific assignments will be made according to the academic qualifications of the individual. Core courses must be taught from approved syllabi.

    B. Fulfilling all responsibilities associated with assigned courses, including

    1. Conducting all assigned class meetings and individual conferences with students;
    2. Holding at least 3 weekly office hours on campus;
    3. Attending meetings of the OMIS faculty when held;
    4. Submitting student grades to the Office of the Registrar by the published deadlines;
    5. Administer numeric and narrative course evaluations to students in all courses;
    6. Fulfilling other instructional or academic duties as may be assigned by the Dean of the Leavey School of Business or the Chair of the OMIS Department.
