Operations Research Group of Industrial and Systems Engineering department at Virginia Tech invites applications for a postdoctoral research fellow position. Starting Fall'22 (or Spring'23, if needed), the postdoc will work under the supervision of Dr. Manish Bansal and Dr. Subhash Sarin on the following topics: (a) Theory of integer programming, and (b) Algorithms for combinatorial optimization problems that arise in applied areas such as security, scheduling, and/or manufacturing. A potential candidate must have a strong background in operations research (in particular, mathematical optimization) and programming languages (e.g., C++/Python).
