    Assistant Professor in Operations Research

    The Department of Mathematics at the University of Nebraska – Omaha (UNO) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track <g class="gr_ gr_37 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_disable_anim_appear ContextualSpelling ins-del" id="37" data-gr-id="37">assistant-professor</g> position beginning August 2019. Applicants must have a Ph.D. (or be ABD) in operations research or a closely related field.

    Operations research, along with statistics and data science, compose the rapidly-growing Data Sciences program within the UNO Mathematics Department. Faculty <g class="gr_ gr_43 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_disable_anim_appear Grammar multiReplace" id="43" data-gr-id="43">enjoy</g> interdisciplinary collaborations with colleagues across UNO and the University of Nebraska system. Mathematics students can choose a concentration in any of these three areas at both the undergraduate and master's levels.  The successful candidate will work closely with faculty and students in the Data Sciences group, teach undergraduate and graduate courses in operations research, supervise graduate students, collaborate with local industry, and maintain an active research program.
