    Applicants should provide: (1) a cover letter, (2) a vita summarizing education, publication record, service, and professional experience, (3) a statement of research interests, (4) copies of scholarly working papers or publications, (5) a teaching portfolio including syllabi of courses taught and teaching evaluations, and (6) contact information for three references who can submit confidential letters of recommendation.     Position Announcement
    One or more full-time, tenure-track position openings in the operations and business analytics area are available at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor within the Operations and Business Analytics (OBA) Department at the Lundquist College of Business. For one position opening, we seek candidates pursuing data-oriented methodologies, as part of the University of Oregon's Presidential Initiative in Data Science.

    Department or Program Summary
    Faculty within the OBA department span both the operations and data-analytics domains. The department has recently increased capacity in the business analytics area, building upon its traditional strengths in operations management and statistics research. OBA faculty at the University of Oregon are committed to rigorous, high-quality research, and publish in leading journals such as Management Science, POM, MSOM, JASA, OR, Decision Sciences, EJOR, and DSS. Beyond their commitment to research, OBA department faculty are also dedicated instructors who teach students how to manage complex operations by leveraging data to make informed decisions. The department's curriculum includes undergraduate and graduate level courses in business analytics, project management, supply chain management, predictive modeling, machine learning, big data, databases and querying, and e-business.

    Minimum Requirements
    Assistant Professor Level: Ph.D. degree in operations management or business analytics (by the time of appointment) with demonstrated potential for teaching and research excellence.

    Experienced Assistant/Associate Professor level: Ph.D. degree, demonstrated superior teaching competence and a record of scholarly accomplishment that includes publication in high-quality academic journals.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Portfolio of research papers including publication(s) in top-tier OM/OR journals;
    • Evidence of superior teaching as a course instructor of record.
