    Dear Colleagues:

    On behalf of the organizing committee and the INFORMS JFIG board, we are pleased to announce the finalists for the 2021 Junior Faculty Interest Group (JFIG) Paper Competition. Six finalists are selected from 32 submissions that were received this year. The finalists will present in the JFIG competition sessions at the upcoming INFORMS Annual Meeting:

    Award Hybrid Session I (ME04, Monday, October 25, 2021, 4:30 PM - 6 PM, US Pacific Time):

    • Fasheng Xu. "Theory of FinTech and Trade Finance".
    • Karthyek Murthy. "Achieving Efficiency in Black-box Estimation of Distribution Tails with Self-structuring Importance Samplers".
    • Bradley Sturt. "A nonparametric algorithm for optimal stopping based on robust optimization".
    • Hrayer Aprahamian and Hadi El-Amine "Optimal Unlabeled Set Partitioning with Application to Risk-based Quarantine Policies".

    Award Hybrid Session II (TB04, Tuesday, October 26, 2021, 11 AM - 12:30 PM, US Pacific Time):

    • Rajan Udwani. "Submodular Order Functions and Assortment Optimization".
    • Digvijay Boob and Cristobal Guzman. "Optimal Algorithms for Differentially Private Monotone Stochastic Variational Inequalities and Saddle-point Problems".
