     Vacancy: Tenure-track Position for Assistant Professor or Associate Professor in the Department of Information Systems

     

    Position

    Department of Information Systems in College of Business of the City University of Hong Kong invites applications for several tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor beginning in 2020/21 academic year starting in September 2020. Candidates must have received a doctorate in Information Systems or a related area.

    Candidates must also have a strong commitment to high-quality research and excellent teaching in the Information Systems field. For appointments at the Associate Professor level, a substantial track record of research publications in top-tier journals is essential. For appointments at the Assistant Professor level, a strong indication of the ability to publish in top tier journals is critical.

    Successful candidates should have the ability to teach IS courses at both graduate (MBA/MSc) and undergraduate (BBA) levels. Candidates with teaching experiences in business intelligence, data science, and analytics, IS planning and strategy, and Fintech-related courses are at a distinct advantage. Experience in academic administrative work is a plus. Successful candidates should demonstrate the capacity to motivate students to appreciate the value of innovative information management on businesses in the Internet era. 

     

    Department of Information Systems

    The Department is committed to nurturing smart people for smart business. We offer two undergraduate BBA programs, three Master programs, and one Ph.D. program to students from multiple nations. With about 30 research and teaching staff, the Department is one of the largest IS departments in the world.  Our research productivity has been ranked highly, e.g., No. 4 in the UT Dallas List's top 3 IS journals (2015-2018), No. 1 both in AIS Senior Scholars' Basket of 8 journals (2015-2017) and KURBS Worldwide Business Research Ranking (2015-2018).
