The creation of the global supply chain has contributed to economic growth in developing countries, but pandemics like this coronavirus reveals its fragility. You suggest that the United States diversify its trade supply chains. The United States is already traveling heavily with other countries, including Mexico and Canada for goods like machinery and medical device. In 2019 about 18% of imports came from China and a little more than 14% came from Mexico. What sort of shift would you like, apart from establishment of independent domestic supplies, to balance the trade dependencies?
