    Position Description

    The Ingram School of Engineering invites applications for one postdoctoral research associate position under the supervision of Prof. Zhijie (Sasha) Dong in the Industrial Engineering program. This appointee will focus on research in the area of transportation systems, and supply chain management, by developing mathematical models and solution methods. The appointee will be responsible for 1) conducting research and taking leadership in writing proposals and research papers; 2) developing collaboration with other research teams, public agents and particularly industry partners; 3) co-supervising student projects and basic administrative support.

    This is a one-year appointment with a possibility of renewal based on satisfactory performance. Applications will be considered from the date of this announcement until filled.

     

    Required Qualifications

    • D. in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics or close related fields.
    • Knowledge of mathematical modeling, optimization algorithms, statistics, simulation and supply chain analysis.
    • Familiar with programming and optimization software (e.g., CPLEX and Gurobi).
    • Good writing and presentation skills.

     

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in writing proposals.
    • Strong programming skills, particularly C++ or Java.
    • Knowledge of simulation packages.
    • Self-motivated
