    1. Data Analytics Faculty Position:

    The Department of Management Sciences in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Waterloo invites applications for a tenure-track or tenured faculty position in Data Analytics with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2019. The appointment is at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor or in very special cases, Full Professor.

    Applicants should hold a PhD, or be near completion of their doctorate, and have demonstrated research and teaching potential in industrial, systems or software engineering, computer science or related fields. We seek individuals with research and teaching interests at the interface of Operations Research and Information Systems.  In particular, individuals in the areas of Business and Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistical Analysis, Machine learning, Data Mining, and Data-Driven Decision Making are encouraged to apply.  Interest in practical problems and applications is highly desirable.

    Successful applicants are expected to maintain an active program of research, to attract and supervise graduate and undergraduate students, and to participate in undergraduate and graduate teaching. The salary range at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor is CAD 105,000 to 150,000. Negotiations beyond this salary range will be considered for exceptionally qualified candidates.

     

    Management Sciences is a dynamic and growing interdisciplinary department in the Faculty of Engineering that has active research and teaching activities in Operations Research, Information Systems, and Management of Technology.   The Department offers an undergraduate degree in Management Engineering, as well as Master's and PhD programs in Management Sciences.

    2. Operations Research faculty position

    The Department of Management Sciences in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Waterloo invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Operations Research with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2019.  In the case of an exceptional candidate, an appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor will be considered.

    Applicants should hold a PhD, or be near completion of their doctorate, and have a strong background in Operations Research/Management Sciences, Industrial/Systems Engineering, or related fields. Applicants should have an undergraduate degree in Engineering and must commit to apply to become a registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario, Canada within two years of appointment. We are particularly seeking individuals with demonstrated research ability and have interests in the theory and applications of operations research. Examples include optimization, stochastic processes, simulation, and data analytics with applications in logistics and supply chain management, inventory theory, manufacturing, revenue management, quality, reliability and other relevant areas in industrial engineering and operations management.
