    Dear INFORMS Friends,

As you may know, there is an effort underway to launch a Stack Exchange Q&A site for Operations Research, where users can post OR-related questions and other users can answer them. You might already know Stack Exchange's sites for programming (Stack Overflow), math, LaTeX, or data science, to name a few. The site's structure is similar to the now-dormant OR Exchange, a standalone site that had to be shuttered due to over-spamming.

More than 230 people have already committed to joining the site, but it still needs more people to sign up before it can launch. In particular, the site will begin its beta-launch when it gets about about 40 more supporters who have 200 or more "reputation points" on another Stack Exchange site. (Basically this just means you have asked and/or answered a handful of questions on Stack Overflow or another Stack Exchange site.) Even if you aren't already a Stack Exchange user, joining the OR site now will help when the beta launch begins.

    Here's how you can help:
    1. Visit the site at https://area51.stackexchange.com/proposals/121892/operations-research.
    2. Click "Commit" in the top-left corner. Committing to the site means pledging to ask and answer 10 questions within the first few months of the launch.
    3. Log in to your existing Stack Exchange account, or create a new one. (It's free.)
    4. That's it! You'll get more information once the site launches, at which point we'll be able to start asking and answering questions!
Hope to see you on Stack Exchange!

    Best,
    Larry

P.S. Please feel free to share this announcement with other folks you think might be interested.
