The Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia invites applications for a tenure-track or tenured faculty position in Quantitative Analysis, beginning in the fall of 2018. Applicants must have a PhD and be committed to conducting research and teaching in areas involving the application of quantitative approaches in business and managerial settings. PhD's may be in traditional Quantitative Analysis areas, such as Decision Sciences, Data Science, Management Science, Operations Research, Statistics, and Computer Science, but may also be in related disciplines, such as Economics, Finance, Marketing or Operations. For the latter, applicants must have demonstrated rigorous quantitative analytical research skills and be willing to teach more generalized quantitative analysis content to MBA and Executive Education audiences.

Faculty in the Quantitative Analysis area focus their research on developing new methodologies in a broad range of managerial contexts. The cross-disciplinary culture of the Darden School makes it perfectly acceptable for applicants to focus in one or more specialty application areas, such as Marketing, Finance, Operations, or Economics, with a focus on prescriptive decision-making. For candidates with a background in Statistics and Computer Science, we seek candidates with interest in a broad business or managerial perspective.

With respect to teaching, the area seeks applicants willing and able to teach the general application of quantitative analysis to MBA students and Executives. In addition to courses in the required curriculum, the area offers MBA students a concentration in Business Analytics through electives and independent studies. Current MBA elective offerings include Data Analysis (Excel-based), Optimization, Data Science in Business, Behavioral Decision Making, and Project Management. Faculty also teach these topics in Executive Education programs, and the School is partnering with other parts of the University to launch a new Masters in Business Analytics degree.

The Darden School of Business is a top-rated global business school. The School's mission is "to improve the world by developing and inspiring responsible leaders and advancing knowledge."
