Dear colleagues,
I am pleased to share with you the publication of the first paper in the invited series on "Frontiers in Service Science." The paper "Ride-Matching for Peer-to-Peer Ridesharing: A Review and Future Directions" is by Yafeng Yin (Department Editor for Urban Services and Mobility) and co-authors Amirmahdi Tafreshian and Neda Masoud. The paper maps out the landscape for peer to peer mobility and describes new lines of inquiry that this emerging area opens up.
With support from INFORMS, the paper is available for download as a free access paper: https://pubsonline.informs.org/doi/10.1287/serv.2020.0258.
Stay tuned for future papers by Francis de Vericourt and Georgia Perakis on "Service Analytics and Big Data," Guillaume Roels and Aleda Roth on "Service Design and Innovation," and by Gad Allon and Ravi Bapna on "Digital Services and Online Platforms," among several others.
Let me take this opportunity to encourage you to submit to the journal. We welcome innovative papers on all aspects of service. We are open to all types of contributions, including analytical, empirical, experimental, and conceptual. The journal has one of the fastest review cycles among INFORMS journals, a high impact factor, and a diverse board of foremost experts covering all areas of service.
