INFORMS Open Forum

Dear INFORMS community,

As we say goodbye to 2021 and welcome a new year, I want to thank you all for a year full of knowledge and growth. Being with many of you at the Annual Meeting in Anaheim really brought INFORMS to life for me in so many ways. I am looking forward to what's ahead for our organization. Let's look back at the year we've had and take a sneak peek at what's ahead.

Three things that made an impact on me in 2021:

• Finally meeting members in person! I was able to meet many of you when I went to Iowa University for the UPS Prize celebration and at the Annual Meeting in California.
• The Board of Directors approving and rolling out the new strategic plan.
• Witnessing steady progress on improving diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the OR/MS/analytics field.

Three things to look forward to in 2022:

• While COVID-19 isn't going anywhere, I look forward to further financial recovery.
• Attending more INFORMS meetings where I can meet even more members. (I'm happy to attend any meeting to spread the INFORMS word so if you have any upcoming meeting, please invite me. Zoom or in person is fine.)
• Finding new ways and striving to implement our strategic goals. 

I wish everyone a healthy and restful season and look forward to another year of collaboration and working toward a more just, prosperous, and sustainable world through better decision making.
