The Scheller College of Business at The Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia (Georgia Tech) invites applications for one full-time non-tenure-track (NTT) faculty position in the Information Technology Management (ITM) Area at the Lecturer level starting as soon as January 2019. Applications will be reviewed until the position is filled. A Masters in Information Systems or related area is the minimum requirement. A Ph.D. is the preferred degree. Credentials must be awarded by December 1, 2018. The NTT faculty career track is distinct from that of tenure track faculty and this position should not be seen as a path to a tenure-track position.

A competitive salary and discretionary funds for professional development are offered. The expected teaching load is six 3-credit hour courses per nine-month academic year (fall & spring terms), usually 3 courses/term. Normally there are 3-4 preps per year, typically at the undergraduate level with the possibility of graduate level teaching. The ITM area in Scheller is a top-10 ranked undergraduate program. The candidate must be committed to excellence in teaching current knowledge and tools that will differentiate our students in competition for highly desired positions. Further, we seek a colleague who is able and willing to learn new packages, platforms, and programming languages to help our students meet anticipated demands of employers.  Interest in the subject matter must be evident in preparation and in classroom interactions.

Scheller seeks specifically candidates who can develop, update, and teach courses in any or all of: programming in Java and/or Swift, database including MySQL (XAMPP), cybersecurity from a managerial standpoint, enterprise platforms such as SAP, Salesforce, and ServiceNow, and business analytics with R. The position may also involve collaborating with other faculty to maintain and deliver a unified prep of the area's undergraduate core class.

This position will likely involve teaching a MWF schedule but other schedules are possible depending on student needs. Summer teaching for additional comp is often available. Service includes committee work at the College and Institute level, advising students regarding professional and academic matters, advising student organizations, and interacting with alumni and employers to help keep our curriculum and course content current.

The Scheller College of Business is located in Midtown Atlanta next to Georgia Tech's Advanced Technology Development Center business incubator, and the soon-to-be-completed CODA, a hub that will bring together industry, academia, and high-performance computing. The city ranks fourth in the USA for the number of FORTUNE 500 headquarters. It is the world headquarters of Coca-Cola, Delta Airlines, Home Depot, NCR, and United Parcel Service, and the USA HQ of IHG, Mercedes-Benz USA, and Porsche Cars North America, among others. Atlanta consistently ranks among the best cities in the USA in which to live and work.
