From the INFORMS staff family to you - our members - happy International Women's Day (IWD)! INFORMS participated in this year's #EmbraceEquity campaign, which you will see on the cover and within the pages of the Winter issue of OR/MS Today. You may recall that one of INFORMS' strategic goals is to "advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in all we do," and participating in the IWD campaign is just one small way to achieve that.
IWD is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action to celebrate women's achievements, raise awareness about discrimination and drive gender parity. IWD belongs to everyone, everywhere. In this latest issue of OR/MS Today, you'll see how some of our members interpreted #EmbraceEquity. You may see some familiar faces as well as those of members you haven't met yet. If you see any of these faces at the upcoming 2023 INFORMS Business Analytics Conference, thank them for participating and feel free to chat about what #EmbraceEquity means to you.
You'll also find a personal hero story from @Polly Mitchell-Guthrie in which she shares the life lessons she's learned from another Pauli (Murray) as well as her insights from a decades-long career path that took many winding turns, and provides her "ABCs" for women in the workplace.
