    Applications are invited for a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor in applied and computational mathematics.  Candidates must have a Ph.D., or foreign degree equivalent, in mathematics or applied mathematics, or a closely related discipline, along with the ability to demonstrate, through their records of accomplishments, and promise of future distinction in scholarship and education.  The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in the department at the undergraduate and graduate levels, to develop and maintain a robust program of externally funded research, and to provide academic and administrative service to the department and the institute.  Please visit https://science.rpi.edu/mathematical-sciences for more information about the department.

     

    The Department of Mathematical Sciences is particularly seeking candidates whose research areas involve mathematical advances in data science, including but not limited to the mathematical understanding and enabling developments for novel AI/ML, optimization, and innovative approaches for integrating data-driven methods, structural models, and/or computational mathematics in interdisciplinary applications.
