    Dear colleagues,

The mining and petrochemicals cluster is delighted to invite you to organize a session at the 2021 INFORMS Annual Meeting (Oct 24-27, Anaheim, CA).  The topic is up to you, but it has to be somehow related to oil/gas/mining. In particular, the mining and petrochemicals cluster at the INFORMS Section on Energy, Natural Resources, and the Environment (ENRE) is organized to:

    • promote the development and application of operations research/management science/machine learning methods, techniques, and tools to the solution of problems relating to mining and petrochemicals,
    • encourage the exchange of information among practitioners and users in mining and petrochemicals applications areas, and
    • promote the maintenance of high professional standards in the application of operations research/management science/machine learning to problem areas in mining and petrochemicals.
If you want to organize a session please let me know and send me a tentative title as soon as possible, so I can add you to the INFORMS system (Oasis) as a session chair. Keep in mind that the maximum number of speakers per session is 4. If you just want to contribute a talk, please let me know the general topic, so I can connect you with an appropriate session chair.

    The upcoming deadlines are:
    • March 18: Deadline for session chairs to submit session proposal (title & abstract)
    • May 1: Deadline for session chairs to invite speakers
    • May 15: Deadline for presenters to submit abstract

Please feel free to pass along this information to your colleagues. We appreciate receiving information about your tentative title for your session ASAP. We are looking forward to seeing you in upcoming INFORMS!
