    Position summary: We invite applications for a full-time post-doctoral fellowship position to investigate theoretical questions and practical aspects pertaining to the modelling, analysis and design of on-demand transportation systems, such as ride-hailing and food delivery platforms. The successful candidate will be part of the Operations Management and Statistics group at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. The candidate will be co-supervised by Philipp Afèche (Rotman School of Management) and Andre A. Cire (Dept. of Management, UTSC & Rotman).

     

    Qualifications:

    1. PhD (earned or to be granted) in Industrial Engineering, ManagementScience, Operations Research, Operations Management, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science or related fields.
    2. Strong expertise in queuing, stochastic modeling, simulation, and optimization.
    3. Strong communication skills (both written and spoken) and self-motivation.

    Terms of the position: The expected start date is September 2022 with the expectation that the candidate relocates to Toronto, Canada. This position is for one year with the possibility of an extension for an additional year based on mutual interest and funding availability.
