    Posted 07-29-2021 03:06

Following last year's success, the OR/MS Tomorrow mini-poster competition is coming back! To nurture student researchers in developing the skills to summarize and articulate research ideas effectively and efficiently, OR/MS Tomorrow is running our mini-poster competition with generous support from the Seth Bonder Foundation for another year!

The competition is open to all students, including current INFORMS members and non-members. Candidates are required to design one letter-sized or A4 page to communicate their research topic to the broader audience in the OR/MS community. We accept submissions in three groups: undergraduate students, graduate students (master), and Ph.D. students. Winners will be chosen from each group based on the novelty of the topic, maturity of content, quality of information engagement, and aesthetics. In addition to cash prizes, the winning posters will be published in the Fall/Winter 2021 issue of OR/MS Tomorrow and the winners will receive an electronic certificate in celebration of their achievements.

    Deadline: October 30, 2021.

    Submission requirements:

    • The mini-poster must be original.

    • The author must be a student at the time of submission. Please provide a letter from your advisor or a certificate of current enrollment to indicate your enrollment as an undergraduate/master/Ph.D. student.

    • For undergraduate students, the author can enter as an individual or a team with a maximum of 5 students.

    • For master and Ph.D. students, we accept only one author per poster. You can state your collaborators working on the

research ideas (e.g your advisor) but there should be only one author for the poster entry.

    • The poster must be submitted as a PDF file, the minimum font size is 12 pt.

    • Judging is blind, so the author must NOT include their name, address, email address, or other identifying information on the poster.

    • The mini-posters should be submitted via email to orms_tomorrow@mail.informs.org by ET 11:59 pm on October 30, 2021.

Please specify in the email if you are entering the undergraduate, graduate (master), or Ph.D. students level competition.

The Second place winner in each group will receive $100 in cash.
Honourable mention in each group will receive $50 in cash.
