A Ph.D. in a business discipline with expertise in the areas of statistics, operations management, business analytics or management information systems is required. Candidates who possess a Ph.D. or terminal degree in a closely related field and ABDs in advanced stages will also be considered.
The successful candidate must be willing and able to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in business analytics. Candidates will be expected to teach courses in one or more of the following subjects: statistics, data visualization, modeling (spreadsheet, predictive, prescriptive), data preparation and pre-processing, health care analytics, and end-to-end business analytics projects. Candidates should also be able and willing to teach in operations and supply chain management or applied analytics courses in other specific business disciplines. We are interested in candidates who have demonstrated commitment to providing leadership in teaching, research, or service toward building an equitable and diverse scholarly environment.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and have an active research agenda. A combination of online, hybrid, and face-to-face course delivery will be expected.
Candidates with a proven record of excellence in research and teaching will be given preference in the selection process. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in R, Python, Tableau, and/or Power BI. Industry experience in business analytics, operations management and/or information systems is preferred. A demonstrated interest in emerging technologies – including artificial intelligence, Blockchain, robotics, the Internet of Things – is also preferred.
