The Lally School of Management at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute seeks applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Position in Supply Chain and Analytics as the Cary Wellington Junior Chair starting August 16, 2022. Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in Analytics, Operations Research, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or a closely related field prior to the date of appointment. A.B.D. candidates without completion by August 1, 2022 will be considered only for an appointment at the lecturer rank and must have completed the Ph.D. for continuation beyond the first year.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated potential to conduct research and publish in high quality peer-reviewed outlets. The candidate will have a demonstrated potential and commitment to effective teaching in our graduate and undergraduate degree programs in supply chain and business analytics, as well as provide service to the Lally School of Management and to Rensselaer.
The position requires excellence in research in the area of supply chain and analytics, effective written communication skills, and strong technical skills in areas such as analytical modeling, data management, machine learning and computation. Demonstrated interest in emerging technologies including artificial intelligence and Blockchain are desirable. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage with and develop research initiatives aligned with the newly formed Data, Artificial Intelligence and Computing Institute (DAIC), a well-funded initiative at Rensselaer that is central to the main research thrusts of the Institute and the Lally School.
