    Dear colleagues and friends,

Here is the reminder to the live panel session "Quality, Statistics, and Reliability in Industry" at INFORMS Annual Meeting 2020 on November 11, 2020, 12:30 PM - 1:45 PM (EST), Virtual Room 44.

This panel session is organized by QSR Industry Relations Subcommittee, and we have invited several remarkable panelists from both academia and industry, who are within or closely working with the QSR section, to share their experience in successfully landing a prestigious job and having a bright industry career, to introduce the challenges and new opportunities about working in and collaborating with industry. They are:

Dr. David Grewell is the department chair of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering at North Dakota State University. He is the Director of the NSF Center for Bioplastics and Biocomposites, the Chair of the Biopolymers & Biocomposites Research Team, International Institute of Welding Commission IXV, a Board Member of multiple research associations. He also has a position at the University of Erlangen in Germany and is a Fellow of the Society of Plastics Engineers and the National Academie of Inventors. Dr. Grewell will introduce the CB2 program (https://www.ndsu.edu/centers/cb2/) and the opportunities for fundings through that program at the panel session.

Dr. Kun Hu is a research staff member and research manager at IBM Almaden Research Center in San Jose, CA. She is a frontier engineer named by the US National Academy of Engineering in 2017 (USFOE). She was an awardee of "Silicon Valley Emerging Leader" by YWCA in 2018. Dr. Hu leads her team effort on various industrial applications, from building mathematical models, developing a cloud-native bioinformatics platform, to inventing and designing the AI-powered robot microscope. She has led community efforts to respond to recent epidemics/pandemics, such as H7N9 in 2013, Ebola in 2014-2015, Zika in 2015-2016, CoVID-19 in 2020. Her work has been widely reported by a variety of media, such as CNN, VentureBeat.

Dr. Ranjan leads his team to develop real-time AI systems for manufacturing industries with the goal of making them autonomous and sustainable. He serves on multiple boards of directors in the analytics and engineering space.

Mr. Yifei Yuan is a Ph.D. candidate in the systems and industrial engineering department at the University of Arizona. He has landed a competitive Data Scientist job at Google and has been working on improving the quality of Google search ads.

Dr. Jia Liu is an assistant professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Auburn University. He is a lead R&D faculty of the National Center for Additive Manufacturing Excellence (NCAME) and Interdisciplinary Center of Advanced Manufacturing. He worked as a data scientist in WarnerMedia for two years to analyze the consumer data for better ad allocation.
