    Dear Colleagues:

    The Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers (IISE) is sponsoring the Energy Systems Track at the 2017 IISE Annual Conference and Expo. The conference is a forum for exchanging knowledge and discoveries in the industrial and systems engineering research and practitioner communities. The 2017 IISE Annual Conference and Expo will be one conference. There are no longer separate ISERC and Applied Solutions sessions. This exciting change will bring researchers and practitioners together to share the latest advances in Energy Systems Modeling and Analysis. To see the additional changes for the 2017 IISE Annual Conference and Expo, please visit:

    http://www.xcdsystem.com/iise/files/Annual2017_AbstractsWhatsNewUPDATE_091316.pdf

    As track chairs of the Energy Systems Track, we would like to encourage you to contribute to the conference by submitting an abstract. Authors of accepted abstracts will be invited to present their work in a session. Each session will be 80 minutes and have four presenters. Each speaker will have 20 minutes for his or her presentation. Abstracts are welcome for the Energy Systems Track in the following areas, but not limited to:

    Optimization of operations, planning, and design of energy systems;

    Techno-economic evaluation of alternative energy systems;

    Use of data-analytics to design, evaluate, control, and operate energy systems;

    Policy evaluation for energy systems;

    Economic aspects of renewable energy;

    Maintenance scheduling;

    Condition monitoring;

    Energy efficiency and management

    All presenters are strongly encouraged (though not required) to submit full length papers for the conference proceedings. The papers should contain results that are significant and have archival value to the industrial and systems engineering research and practitioner community. Full papers have a six-page limit and will undergo a double-blind peer review process. All accepted papers are indexed by ProQuest.  IISE is currently working on uploading papers of previous years onto the IISE website. Presentation only submissions will not be indexed in the conference proceedings.

    The important deadlines for the conference are (NOTE: THERE WILL NOT BE EXTENSIONS)

    • Abstract Submission Deadline:                         November 7, 2016
    • Notification of Decision on Abstract: November 28, 2016
