    2016 Young Researcher Prize
    Call for Nominations

     
    Purpose:

    The ENRE Young Researcher Prize is awarded annually at the INFORMS Annual Meeting to one or more young researcher(s) for an outstanding paper on the application of OR/MS to an important problem in energy, natural resources, or the environment.  The Prize serves as an esteemed recognition of promising researchers who are at the beginning of their academic or industrial career. The winner(s) will be invited to give a short presentation of the winning paper in an ENRE Section Awards session during the INFORMS Annual Meeting of the year for which the award is made.  The winner(s) will be responsible for all travel expenses associated with attending the Annual Meeting and presenting their paper.  The award includes an official citation plaque from INFORMS.
     

    Eligibility Criteria:

    The author(s) and the work must satisfy the following conditions to be eligible for the prize:
    1. The paper must be submitted to the award chair by the published deadline for that year.
    2. All authors must have been awarded their terminal degree no more than six years prior to January 1-st of the year of the award.
    3. If the paper is published, it should have been published within the four calendar years preceding the award.  There is no requirement of publication.
    4. The topic of the paper must belong to one or more of the fields of energy, natural resources, or the environment.
    5. The prize may be awarded only once in a lifetime to any individual.


    Nomination process:

    A nomination consists of two documents, both in pdf format:
    1. A nomination letter from the nominator confirming that the author and the paper satisfy the eligibility criteria;
    2. A copy of the nominated paper.
    Self-nominations are welcome.


    Nominations are due by June 30, 2016 and should be e-mailed to the chair of the prize committee, Steffen Rebennack.
