The 2016 National Symposium for Resilient Critical Infrastructure (NSRCI) will take place August 16-18, 2016 in Chicago, IL. We are seeking research presentations on the following topics:
- Modeling, analytical techniques, or decision support tools to determine vulnerabilities in critical infrastructure, assess resilience, and/or inform planning and investment;
- Best practices for local, state, federal infrastructure protection entities or infrastructure owner-operators; techniques to improve critical infrastructure resilience to all-hazards; case studies of infrastructure planning and disaster response;
- Prioritized restoration of critical infrastructure systems following large scale disasters;
- Dependency or interdependency examinations of cascading impacts of infrastructure failures; Cyber-physical interdependencies in critical infrastructure analysis;
- Application of geospatial technologies and related visualization methodologies that enhance critical infrastructure analysis efforts and information sharing processes.
Our intent for this symposium is to stimulate and facilitate a conversation about resilience and critical infrastructures. To that end, our technical presentations will follow a "lightning talk" format-these are short talks that follow a strict format and are intended to maximize exposure of ideas.
We welcome two types of submissions:
- General Submissions
- Submissions for Student Competition
How to Submit: Applicants must submit an extended abstract via the Symposium website.
Deadline: May 31, 2016
