Appointments of new chairs of INFORMS committees are made at the INFORMS Board meeting at the Annual conference each Fall. After the chairs are set, the committee members are appointed soon after.
So, October first of each year is a good time for you to think about contacting current committee chairs to volunteer to take on ad hoc tasks for committees or to serve as an official committee member when a position comes available.
