Back in March 2008, I was working on my MBA at Rutgers-Camden at night and working during the day. The program director asked me one evening to put together a nomination package for the IPC and that it would be well worth my time to go. I'd never heard of INFORMS before, but the conference sounded interesting and I decided to go for it.

When I made it down to Baltimore for the IPC and the ensuing conference, I was completely blown away. I had found people who liked to think about and solve the problems I could see around me! I've been an INFORMS member ever since and have taken on several volunteer roles to pay forward the opportunities that have come my way because of these experiences.

Students who come to the IPC and the conference get to see the real-world impact that they can have, and get invaluable training on how to be effective in the practice environment. Please consider nominating your top one or two students from your programs to attend. Nominations need to be in by Monday, February 29th, and should be submitted by email to ellen.tralongo@informs.org.

More information about the IPC is available at: Professional Colloquium
