Some time ago, I began noting advertisements for analytics courses and degrees from (to me, at least) obscure institutions. After a bit of research, I concluded that some of these are regionally accredited, but not AACSB accredited.
I then started reading ads for faculty appointments. I note that the majority of these simply specify "a research PhD." A lesser portion say "from an accredited institution." Only a tiny fraction actually say "from an AACSB accredited institution."
So, I would appreciate comments from the community on the following questions:
(1) Among AACSB schools, what is the practice of hiring from non-AACSB but regionally-accredited schools?
(2) Among non-AACSB schools, is there any preference given to candidates from either AACSB or regionally-accredited schools?
Thanks to all !
