Call for Manuscripts
The following peer reviewed book "Optimization and Applications in Control and Data Science" devoted to the 80th birthday of professor Boris T. Polyak (see
https://sites.google.com/site/polconf/
) will be published by Springer Optimization and Its Applications in June 2016 (see
http://www.springer.com/series/7393
).
Potential authors are invited to submit manuscripts with at most 50 pages long but not later than 1st November 2015.
All submissions should be sent to Dr. Boris Goldengorin, e-mail:
b.goldengorin@rug.nl
Authors of every published chapter will be granted by one hard copy book and Springer's author(s) honorarium.
Suggested topics are not limited by
- optimization models and algorithms (structured optimization, reduced complexity methods for large-scale problems, abstract convexity, non-linear penalty functions, etc);
- applications in Control Theory (control synthesis, stability analysis, etc.)
- complexity of statistical problems and computational methods for statistical estimation and machine learning (optimization methods for inverse problems, dimension reduction, sub-linear methods in data analysis, discovery of causality, etc.).
