    Dear colleagues,

I would like to bring your attention to a new open access MOOC on business process management created by colleagues from Australia, Austria, and the Netherlands, that may be of interest for OR/MS practitioners and academics.

How to make Business Processes more Efficient? Learn in Free Online Course on Fundamentals of Business Process Management

We have created an exciting free massive open online course (MOOC), hosted by Queensland University of Technology, that explains the Fundamentals of Business Process Management. The first delivery of this course starts on 12 October. Register for free at
    https://moocs.qut.edu.au/learn/fundamentals-of-bpm-october-2015

Business processes are everywhere and this course will show you how to systematically model, analyze, redesign, automate and monitor them, with the ultimate goal of improving your organization’s performance. The techniques and tools you get to know are generally applicable in any domain that you can think of – let it be public organizations, schools, banks, logistics, healthcare or production companies, to name but a few. Not to forget, it will be lots of fun!

During 7 weeks, you will watch short videos (2-4mins) along the Business Process Management (BPM) lifecycle. The videos will be interspersed with interviews to practitioners and scientists in the field, interactive exercises, online quizzes and an optional project. You can even earn a certificate with pathways towards award courses at the Queensland University of Technology. And don’t worry, you can watch the videos/do the activities at your own pace within each week and catch up with videos and quizzes from previous weeks. The course has a workload of 2-4 hours per week.

Please forward this email to your colleagues, business contacts and students. They are all very welcome to join!

We are looking forward to meeting you in the class, online!

Marlon Dumas, Marcello La Rosa, Jan Mendling and Hajo Reijers
