    Summary:

    Jeppesen is seeking qualified candidates to join its Operations Research and Analytics Team to develop data-driven analytic products to help our corporate leaders to make informed decisions leading to enhanced products and services and to improved quality and productivity in business operations. You will apply advanced methods in operations research to conduct analytic studies and to build decision support tools to support our corporate operations. You will translate analytical findings into results that lead to business growth and work with cross-functional teams to implement recommendations.

     

    Essential Functions:            

    • Solve business problems, including production planning, inventory management, strategic planning, and pricing analysis, through the application of advanced analytical techniques, including mathematical programming, computer simulation and spreadsheet modeling.
    • Communicate complex analytic techniques and results effectively to an audience of varying technical abilities.
    • Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement throughout Jeppesen's worldwide enterprise by leading cross-functional teams in efforts to solve business problems, both large and small.
    • Work independently and effectively across the analytics value chain, from data acquisition through communication of results and manage several simultaneous projects.

     

    Education/Experience:

    Bachelors’ degree in Operations Research or related field and a minimum of 8 years practical experience in a corporate environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s degree preferred.

     

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:                                         

    • A solid understanding of advanced analytical techniques including linear and nonlinear programming, discrete-event simulation, Monte Carlo simulation, data mining, statistics and data visualization.
    • Proficiency with software used to acquire, manage and analyze data. Desired software experience includes exposure to several of the following: GAMS or similar modeling software, CPLEX, Promodel, @Risk, PL/SQL, MS Access, MS Excel, Spotfire, R, Visual Basic, PERL and Python.
    • Ability to think logically and creatively and to communicate complicated methods and results both orally and in written communication.
