I have found that blogging is extremely effective. It helps share current issues of common interest, creates teaching idea exchanges, and moves in a direction compatible with teaching and learning today. Several colleagues have created blogs just for their students taking a particular class. I have created one for professors who teach operations management. I try to post five times a week with ideas I pick up in WSJ, NYT, Forbes, Economist, Fortune, OR/MS Today, and other sources.
