Postdoctoral Associate in Management Science at Robert H. Smith School of Business Position Description:
The Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, College Park is seeking a postdoctoral associate to assist and collaborate with faculty on their funded research on a project on city fleet / asset management. The project involves collecting data, working with industry experts to calibrate the data, formulating the problem as mixed integer programs, design efficient decomposition algorithms to solve the problem, and implement the solutions for the partner organization that funds this project.
Qualifications: Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Operations Research, Management Science, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management or a related field and have strong mathematical programming and computing skills. The selected candidate must be able to meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and to continue working legally for the proposed term of the appointment.
Start Date: September 1, 2015 (desired)
Duration: 24 months.
Compensation: This is a full-time, non-tenure-track appointment. Annual salary is competitive and depends upon education and experience.
