After last year’s successful reorganization of our unique pre-conference colloquia, the 2015 INFORMS Combined Colloquia will be held on October 30-31, the Friday and Saturday preceding the INFORMS Annual Meeting in Philadelphia, PA.

The Combined Colloquia offers the choice of attending one of three colloquia designed to advance your career:

    • Teaching Effectiveness Colloquium (TEC), with great guidance for those who want the best methods of connecting in the classroom and teaching math to students at all levels
    • The recently reorganized Doctoral Student Colloquium (DSC), which helps impending graduates make the critical decision about pursuing an academic or practice career
    • New Faculty Colloquium (NFC), an excellent introduction to the challenges of a career in academia for junior faculty

Last year we streamlined the application process introducing a straightforward fee structure - $80 for students, $200 for all others. The response to this change was positive and we expect it to work well again this year.

All three colloquia are sponsored by INFORMS, INFORM-ED, the INFORMS Student Affairs Committee and Omega Rho, and are designed to provide attendees with technical material, career experiences from senior and junior OR/MS professionals, and an environment for networking. Please note that all colloquia participants must register for the INFORMS Annual Meeting (the registration fee for the colloquia does NOT include the registration fee for the INFORMS Annual Meeting).

The Combined Colloquia will begin on Friday evening with a welcome dinner for all participants and will continue on Saturday all day with interesting and informative sessions, good food, and plenty of time to socialize and network.

Deadline for all nomination packages is August 8, so please register early. For complete nomination requirements and to submit, go to: http://meetings2.informs.org/wordpress/philadelphia/workshops/informs-combined-colloquia/. I am serving as chair of the Combined Colloquia Committee (matt.bailey@bucknell.edu). The chairs of the individual colloquia are Eric Huggins (TEC), Archis Ghate (DSC), and Halit Uster (NFC). We look forward to seeing you in Philadelphia.
