Thanks to the INFORMS Connect Service I have been able to post a report that was prepared by a team invited by the National Science Foundation in 2012. This report, which studies the connection between OR and the "Engineering Grand Challenges" was completed in 2014, and is now posted at the link below. Please note that this report was not envisioned as an exhaustive compilation of research directions, either in methodology or in applications. It was written with the hope that communities which are directly aligned with the "Engineering Grand Challenges" will find the INFORMS membership to be a tremendous resource for collaborations which may lead to path-breaking advances.
