    Applications are invited for a tenured/tenure-track faculty position at all ranks in the Department of Industrial, Manufacturing and Systems Engineering (IMSE) within the Whitacre College of Engineering (WCOE) at Texas Tech University located in Lubbock, Texas, USA. Exceptional senior candidates may also be considered for the E. L. Derr Endowed Professorship. Founded in 1934, the department is one of the first IMSE departments in the nation and the first in the state of Texas.

    Texas Tech University is a comprehensive Tier I research university that includes law and medical schools with an enrollment of more than 40,000 students total, and recently achieved designation as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI). There is a vibrant and energetic research atmosphere both within the IMSE department and across departments in the WCOE, University, and the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center. The IMSE department also actively supports the WCOE research thrust areas of Energy, Water, Engineers in Medicine, Infrastructure, Nanotechnology and Big Data/Data Visualization.  The IMSE department has numerous laboratory facilities (manufacturing, bioprinting and biofabrication, tissue assembly and nanofabrication, complex systems modeling, control, and optimization, and ergonomics), and is home to a multidisciplinary center related to safety (http://www.depts.ttu.edu/cehrop/).     The IMSE department is seeking applicants working in all areas, with an emphasis given to those working in Human Factors/Ergonomics, Supply Chain Management, or Simulation. Qualified candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field, be eligible to work in the United States, and have excellent communication skills. Candidates who demonstrate the ability to conduct high quality, methodologically innovative research, and have very strong records of scholarship supported by extramural funding and who have the proven capacity or clear potential to bring externally sponsored research to Texas Tech University are encouraged to apply. Candidates will teach undergraduate and graduate courses (including distance education) and advise PhD students and experience working with diverse student populations and first-generation students is highly desirable. Service duties include program-building, as well as commitment to extra-curricular activities. Service to the department, college, and university is expected.
