    Dear colleague,

Thank you to all who contributed to our INFORMS session in the past. We are in the process of organizing the Social Media Analytics Cluster (https://connect.informs.org/socialmedia/home) for the 2020 INFORMS Annual meeting in National Harbor, MD in November.

The INFORMS Social Media Analytics subdivision would like to invite you to chair a session or submit a talk related to the practice and/or theory of Social Media Analytics at the INFORMS 2020 Annual Conference to be held November 8-11 (http://meetings2.informs.org/wordpress/nationalharbor2020/). Please also join the section if you are not already a member for a small monetary amount to support our section. Members get preference in session timing.

If you are interested in chairing a session, please enter your information: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1gj9X-3pFExjNWoK9Dy0QzutXniy_NwQnQRjJ1ujTxyw/edit?usp=sharing

We will enter your session in the system. The session needs to be in the system on March 11, which is your deadline to enter your session in the google sheet. You do not need to enter the talks in your session just yet. The deadline for that is May 15.

If you are interested in submitting a talk, but do not wish to chair a session, you can either

    - email the chair of any session listed in the google sheet to see if you can present in their session

    - or submit your talk as usual in the INFORMS submission system and select Social Media Analytics as topic

Contact me at mb@utk.edu if you have any questions. Priority in timing of the sessions will be given in part to the most complete information and section membership. At this stage, please err on the side of signing up if you are on the fence. Note that the cluster deadline for entering sessions is: March 11th, 2020. Faster submissions increase the likelihood of getting good times.

Sessions require a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 5 presentations linked by a common theme or may include short presentations followed by a panel discussion. Presentations do not need to be accompanied by a formal paper.  The listing of the speakers and their abstracts will be due on May 15 but we will help if you simply list an individual presentation.

Student Paper Competition: One final note, we are entering our sixth year in hosting a student paper competition.  Regardless of whether you are a member of our section or not, and regardless of whether you chair or present, if you are or have students conducting research using social media, we'd like you to consider sending in a paper for competition. We do not ask for copyrights so, if other outlets permit, you can submit to the competition in addition to other submissions.

We look forward to hearing from you!
