2018 INFORMS TIMES Doctoral Dissertation Award Competition
The Technology, Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship Section (TIMES) invites submissions for its 2018
INFORMS TIMES Doctoral Dissertation Award Competition Sponsored by Lazaridis Institute. Dissertations defended no more than two years prior to February 1, 2018, and all research topics broadly related with the subject of technology management, product/process innovation, business model innovation, new product development and entrepreneurship are eligible. Each submitted dissertation will be judged by a panel of domain experts, based on its contribution towards the advancement of theory and practice of technology innovation management and entrepreneurship. The finalists will be invited to present her/his work in a special session at the INFORMS 2018 Annual Meeting in Pheonix, AZ, which will take place November 4-7, 2018. The award winner will receive a monetary award and be presented with a plaque at the TIMES business meeting, which will take place at the INFORMS annual meeting.
Thanks to the generous sponsorship by the Lazaridis Institute, the following cash prize will be offered to the award winners:
- One First-place Prize: $800
- One Second-place Prize: $400
- Two to Three Runner-ups: $100
A complete submission must include three documents:
1) A cover page with author-identifying information including a. the title of the dissertation,
- the entrant's name, current affiliation, address, e-mail address, telephone number
- dissertation completion date, d. degree-granting school, and
- the names of dissertation chair and dissertation committee members
2) A dissertation summary of at most ten 8.5" x 11" pages (not including references and appendices) in standard format (1'' margins all around, double-spaced, 12 point font). The dissertation summary must focus on explaining the main contributions of the research and the relevance and importance of the contributions. Please make sure that there is no author-identifying information in the summary.
3) A full, completed dissertation. Please remove the name of author as well as the academic affiliation from the dissertation.
Please use filenames reflecting the author's last name and short title of the dissertation. All documents should be sent in PDF format in a single email to Donna Rose at RoseD@darden.virginia.edu with a subject heading "2018
INFORMS TIMES Dissertation Award Competition".
