Postdoc Position in Stochastic Modeling and Optimization at Eindhoven University of Technology
The Department of Industrial Engineering and Innovation Sciences at Eindhoven University of Technology is seeking candidates for a postdoctoral researcher position. We are particularly interested in candidates having solid background in mathematics, stochastic modeling and optimization with strong programming skills. Successful candidates are expected to work with Dr. Tugce Martagan on modeling and analysis of high-tech manufacturing systems and their supply chains. The position is a part of the recently funded European Union (Horizon 2020) project “Optimal Decision Making under Uncertainty in Biomanufacturing” and will involve close collaboration with pharmaceutical companies and high-tech industry in the Eindhoven Brainport Top Technology Region. The project team consists of Dr. Tugce Martagan, Prof. Dr. Geert-Jan van Houtum and Prof. Dr. Ivo Adan.
Requirements
Applicants should have completed (or be close to completion of) a PhD degree in operations research, industrial engineering, operations management, applied mathematics, statistics, or a comparable domain with solid background in (stochastic) quantitative research methods. Fluency in English is required. The expected start date is September 1, 2016 (earlier start date is possible). The appointment is for two years, subject to satisfactory performance.
